my dreams were CRUSHED

one of my favorite movies of all time is chicago. it's about these women who are accused of murdering their husbands for a variety of reasons. they aren't convicted because they hire a smooth attorney who "razzle dazzles" the jury. so yeah, not the most wholesome plot ever but it's a musical and it is just amazing. the costumes are a little risque... you get the idea.

anyways, so i confessed my life-long dream to my sister yesterday. i told her i someday, somehow wanted to be a part of the show and star as velma kelly (catherine zeta-jones' character). can i sing? no. am i a dancer? no... well i'm a dance party type dancer but not a dancer dancer, if that makes sense.

kaley was like, "but whitney, you can't sing." i tried to explain myself like the songs aren't that hard and i could get by. she really wanted to support me in this, i could tell, but she finally told me, "get a new dream, yes?" her delivery was classic. she didn't want to hurt my feelings but at the same time, she needed to let me know that there was no way i would ever become velma kelly. i appreciated her honesty and it's not like i don't already know that i suck at singing. don't shoot the messenger, i suppose.

hairspray is on dvd as of today... my life is complete!
