What does it mean to grow up with pink bits between your legs? Writer Kat George takes you on a journey of self-discovery from the moment you're pushed out of a vagina, to the moment you realize you have one, and the ongoing struggle of figuring out what it all means. From her first period, to sex in a hostel cloakroom, to fully lucid cervical biopsies, Kat's charming, sometimes painful yet hilarious stories of feminine exploration will have you giggling, squirming, and hopefully feeling a little bit less alone when you're face-to-face with your own sexuality. Praise for PINK BITS "Kat George is one fearless lady. Pink Bits manages to weave both humor and heart into a book about the vagina, and it should be a must read to anybody who has one (or has loved one). Get your hands on this ASAP you'll laugh and want to text your best friend lines from it, except by the end of the book you'll feel like Kat is your best friend. And it offers an important gift once you're done reading it, too-you'll love and cherish your body a bit more. This debut solidifies Kat George as a true talent, a queen of TMI you're glad she's honest enough to reveal." - Alida Nugent, Author of Don't Worry, It Gets Worse One Twentysomething's (Mostly Failed) Attempts at Adulthood "Pink Bits is George's foray into published long-form writing; a Thought Catalog ebook of essays, stories and insight all about the eponymous bodily region. And it's good. As a man, my interactions with said bits have all been secondhand, but George emphasizes their importance for everyone in, you know, the very fact that we exist. The book is valuable (and funny) for men and women alike, and has lessons to offer about more than just vaginae (yes, that's the plural of vagina.)" - Sean Morrow, HelloGiggles.com "Ms. George's legions of fans will no doubt be delighted and looking forward to the sequel of sexual and gynaecological events still to be experienced in her long lifetime...She comes across as the ideal big sister one never had who is actually prepared to tell it like it is." - NY Journal of Books

Pink Bits Kat George 9781629217383 Books Reviews
Kat's writing is super smart, her tales of teenage woe had me crying with laugher and also awkwardly reflecting on the same milestones from my youth. Self deprecating in the least annoying way and full of dope calls, this ebook is rad. Can't wait to read more from Kat.
Great collection of stories that certainly made me think back to similar emotions and memories. Was interesting to look back with an older view and more compassion. Definitely something worth talking and reminiscing about, a reminder to have empathy for teenagers and hopefully help them through with less hiccups.
Kat George sums up the life of most young teenage girls, all in a witty, clever, TMI style. I wish I had this book in high school, it would have been my bible. Its brutally honest and to the point. This is a book for all ages, even as an adult, I'm glad I read this. I'm already reading it again, for a third time. That's how much I love this book.
So great. Kat is wonderful with words and it reads as though she's sitting down chatting with her closest girlfriends. Though a quick and easy read, I laughed and learned things about my own sex that I never knew, which I was not expecting. Kat's point of view is unique and she is absolutely giving us ladies a good name. She opens up about her personal life and bravely writes of things not written about enough. Read it if you're a female looking to relate to another or if you're a male looking to learn a thing or two. Kat is the next Caitlin Moran.
As a teacher, I'd love to be able to give a copy of this to every teenage girl I teach. Kat's stories of her teenage and early adult days are a beautiful funny retrospective. I have been a fan of Kat's work for sometime, and followed her since her early days of writing for Thought Catalog, this collection of essays were easy to read and made a hellish plane ride somewhat bearable.
I'd recommend this to girls and guys alike. From a man's perspective, it's always enlightening to read about what going on inside a girl's head.
I read one of these chapters out to friends over breakfast, and all they could come out with was "who the hell is this girl?" I think that about sums it up.
If you're my brother, the first/only thing you'll want to know is that you're paying 2.99 dollars to laugh repeatedly, which I feel is a pretty good value (my brother is really concerned with value).
If you're not my brother I've been reading Kat George's work for a bit now, when and where I see it popping up on the internet. I've always enjoyed her work because her honesty and wit and candor always a) made me laugh and b) translated into words that I felt I should have been hearing from people in my life, but never really have. That continues here with Pink Bits and its 11 essays. Pink Bits provides a look into the chronology of Kat George's life and a glimpse (sometimes a very close glimpse) into her growth into someone who could write and, more importantly, publish a book as nakedly honest as Pink Bits. I'm being vague about the exact content because, while the description gives you a hint, it isn't what happens that necessarily matters but how Kat George writes about it and the fact that she is writing about it (and that you're reading it). I should mention here that I'm a male (and a Millennial), which, given the nature of the book, might be worth disclosing. I'm going to avoid getting excessively confessional here (<3 u internet) by simply stating that female or not, Millennial or not, if you've ever struggled with your self-image or self-direction or sexuality in any way (which should be pretty much all of you) then I think there's something here for you. You're not alone, and Kat George is here to help illuminate the journey from life being a series of embarrassments to life being this weird, dumb, fun adventure where stuff happens and you can, if so inclined, laugh the entire time.
Also, it's $2.99 and funny.
Hillarious and quirky
I enjoyed this book. it was a quick read and quite humerous, but mostly it was just one woman's rant about life. I enjoyed the authors relatability.
